Abdex’s metal hose guard is designed using a helically wound, pre-formed metal strip, which forms a fully interlocked profile. As the metal components within the interlock slide, the hose gains both flexibility and suppleness. Moreover, flats in the hose wall provide crucial anti-torsion properties, effectively preventing twisting or unwinding when cut. This clever design eliminates the need for tack welding before cutting the hose to length. In addition, the BOP Armour cover adds extra mechanical protection and also deflects heat, making it highly suitable for harsh environments.

Features
  • Manufactured in line with ISO 15465 Type DOU specifications, where applicable.
  • Although the hose isn’t intended to retain gas or materials under pressure, it can still handle pressures up to 1 bar (100 kPa) when the discharge end is open. For the best sealing performance, Abdex strongly recommends using wide band sealing clamps, as standard U-bolt clamps may not provide a reliable seal.
  • Available in diameters ranging from 32mm to 152mm, with standard lengths of 3 or 9 metres. Additionally, longer lengths are available upon special request.
